iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max Will Reportedly Be Offered in New Orange Color

As the iPhone 17 series gets closer to its September 2025 release, rumors are swirling around an orange color for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. Breaking from the Pro line’s usual muted tones, this bold shade with the latest features means Apple is going all in on redefining its premium look.

Leaker Sonny Dickson shared images on July 29, 2025 of dummy models showing the iPhone 17 Pro in black, white, dark blue and orange. Unlike the Pro’s usual Space Gray or Midnight Green, this bright color – possibly coppery or papaya-like – is bold. The models used for case testing show a new horizontal camera bar, moving away from the square module since the iPhone 11, hinting at Apple’s design direction.

The orange color is described as bright but potentially metallic and could balance boldness with sophistication like the Apple Watch Ultra’s Action Button. Macworld’s July 16 report suggests a “fluorescent” or “papaya” shade with an aluminum frame instead of titanium. A rumored “Liquid Glass” white that shifts colors in the light is unconfirmed and adds to the color options.

Beyond the looks, the iPhone 17 Pro has a 48-megapixel telephoto lens, improved ultrawide and 24-megapixel front camera in the new camera bar. A vapor chamber for cooling and 12GB RAM for performance. The lighter aluminum frame fits the bold design and makes the phone sleek and powerful, matching the orange color with the Pro identity.

Dummy models aren’t definitive as lighting and materials can change the perception. Apple has a history of toning down bold colors – like the iPhone 16’s Desert Titanium – so the orange might be elegant. Expected to launch around September 9 or 10, 2025 the final color will be revealed.
