Find My Skechers Kids Shoes Have a Hidden AirTag Compartment

Skechers’ Find My Sneakers line brings a sneaky twist to kids’ shoes, hiding a compartment for an Apple AirTag to help parents keep tabs on their mini-mes. Priced at $52–$58, these sneakers combine everyday comfort with a dash of tech.
Parents are always finding ways to stay connected to their kids, often tucking Apple’s tiny AirTags into backpacks or pockets. But those can fall out or scream “tracker.” Skechers’ solution is genius: a secret slot under the insole, perfectly sized for an AirTag, locked tight with a screw-shut lid. It stays put through playground dashes or muddy adventures, and is invisible to kids and passersbys.
A cushy, air-cooled Goga Mat insole sits above the AirTag slot, so kids won’t feel a thing underfoot. With breathable mesh uppers, stretchy laces, adjustable straps and tough rubber soles, they’re built for rough-and-tumble play. Machine washable (just remove the AirTag), they come in toddler to age-eight sizes, in bright patterns that hide the techy secret, so it’s fun without shouting “tracker.”
The AirTag works via Apple’s Find My network, where nearby Apple devices anonymously ping the tracker’s Bluetooth signal to iCloud, so parents can check their kid’s location on an iPhone or iPad. It’s not real-time GPS, but in busy areas like malls, it’s spot on. In quieter areas, updates rely on passing Apple devices, so remote spots might be slower, but it’s a reliable tool for crowded places.
The design is genius. The toddler-proof compartment keeps AirTags safe, unlike clip-on trackers that can be seen or lost. It’s a lifesaver for schoolyard panics or crowded fairs, and some see potential for tracking elderly adults, though adult sizes aren’t available yet. Replacement insoles for their auldt shoes suggest bigger plans.
