New Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge Renders Gives Us A Fresh Look at What’s Next

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series has barely been in our pockets and already rumors of the S26 are starting to surface. New leaks of the S26 Edge give us a first look at what Samsung has in store for early 2026.
A big change greets us in the renders: a camera island across the back of the phone. Unlike the vertical camera strips of past Galaxy phones, this wide horizontal bump houses two sensors and a flash, positioned to the left. It’s a departure from Samsung’s recent minimalist approach, we’ve seen in rumors about the iPhone 17 Pro. The island protrudes a bit, a design choice made because of the phone’s slim profile. At 5.5mm (10.8mm with the camera bump) the S26 Edge is thinner than the S25 Edge which was 5.8mm. That’s why the camera housing is so big – there’s not much space to play with.

Flip the phone over and the front shows a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, likely with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and animations. The bezels are slim and uniform, a centered selfie camera cutout and rounded corners. Power and volume buttons on the right side. These renders are not final, but the design looks polished, and balances style with practicality.
What’s behind this redesign? Samsung is shaking up the lineup. The S26 Edge will replace the S25+ and the S25 Edge, the series will be down to three models: S26 Pro, S26 Edge and S26 Ultra. This means the “Plus” variant is being killed off and the Edge is the new centerpiece of the series. It’s a smart move, to make a device that feels new but familiar.
Built in magnets for Qi2 wireless charging is a big deal, putting the S26 Edge on par with iPhones and Pixel 10 series. This isn’t just a “Qi2 Ready” branding like the S25 series, it has full magnetic compatibility for a more secure and efficient charging experience. Battery capacity is also expected to increase, from 3,900mAh in the S25 Edge to 4,200mAh with the slimmer body.
The S26 Edge is expected to replace the 12-megapixel ultrawide of its predecessors with a 50-megapixel sensor, likely the same 1/2.5-inch sensor used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. That should result in crisper and more detailed images, especially in wide angle shots. Details about the main camera are limited but hopes are high for a sensor that meets or beats the ultrawide’s expectations. Processing power will likely come from the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (or Gen 5, depending on Samsung’s branding) with an overclocked “for Galaxy” model in some regions. Exynos processors may show up in others as part of Samsung’s dual-chip plan. 12GB or 16GB RAM with multiple storage options should make the device flexible.
