Rayman 3: Havoc Reignited is a Fan-Made Unreal Engine 5 Remake Offering a Glimmering Return to Rayman’s World

Rayman’s limbless charm has been winning over players since the 90s and his 2003 adventure Hoodlum Havoc is memorable for its offbeat humor and colorful platforming. Fast forward to 2025 and one developer, MarkedAsUnreal, has recreated the magic with Rayman 3: Havoc Reignited, a fan made demo built in Unreal Engine 5. It recreates the first level, the Fairy Council, with a fresh graphic overhaul.

MarkedAsUnreal’s journey started two years ago when he was inspired by the original game’s funny character. The demo focuses on the Fairy Council, a lush woodland area filled with shiny gems and naughty enemies. Unlike many fan projects that just focus on looks, this remake is a full gameplay experience. The developer reworked the basic mechanics – movement, combat and gem collecting system – to make the gameplay feel authentic while harnessing the power of Unreal Engine 5.

Visually, Unreal Engine 5’s lighting and graphics transform the Fairy Council into a brilliant wonderland. Moonlight streams through the woodland, casting dynamic shadows on Rayman’s route. The demo’s cutscenes, rare in fan projects, bring characters like Globox and the Teensies to life with animated and voiced lines from the original.

Rayman’s controls are intuitive, as you can jump between platforms, hang from vines and even perform a spin attack. The demo has the same balance of exploration and combat as the original, with enemies like the Hoodlums to test your reflexes. Collecting gems adds an extra layer of difficulty, making you search for hidden spots while earning points.

The demo’s future is unclear because Ubisoft, the owner of the franchise, hasn’t responded yet and rumors of a new official Rayman game might trigger a takedown. You can download the demo from the project’s Carrd page for now and do it as soon as possible. The package includes the Fairy Council level with cutscenes and gameplay, it’s around 20-30 minutes of nostalgia. It runs nicely on mid-to-high end PCs but to get the full visual experience you need a powerful GPU.
