Krayzor, a Hong Kong-based company, has launched a Kickstarter campaign for a laptop that looks like it was designed during a late night gaming session. With two screens, a full-size mechanical keyboard and a swappable graphics card, this laptop is a wild ride.

Krayzor’s main screen is a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 240Hz panel. It’s sharp, smooth and designed for fast paced gaming. Everything from esports to open world adventures looks great. Colors pop and motion feels fluid. If you care about display quality, this is a great choice. Above the keyboard is a 12.3-inch touchscreen 1920 x 720. This second screen is a nice addition, inspired by dual screen laptops like the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo.

But the second screen’s placement is a concern, as it’s right above the keyboard and has no tilt adjustment so viewing angles will be tricky depending on how you sit. Reaching across the keyboard to tap the touchscreen is awkward, especially with the heavy mechanical keys in the way. The concept of a second screen for work or gaming is great, but how you adjust to the ergonomics will determine if it’s a game changer or a novelty that fades away.

Typing on most laptops is a compromise, but Krayzor’s full-size mechanical keyboard aims to change that. With hot-swappable linear switches, it’s a tactile experience that rivals desktop setups. Gamers and typists who like to customize their gear will love the ability to swap out switches without soldering. RGB lighting adds flair so you can customize the look with colors. Three dials above the trackpad for volume and screen brightness (one for each screen) give you physical control over key settings.

The most interesting part of Krayzor’s design is the modular GPU. The laptop comes with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 with 8GB of VRAM and 115w TGP. It’s a decent performer for 1080p and 1440p gaming and can handle modern titles with decent frame rates. What sets Krayzor apart is the MXM module, a removable graphics card format that in theory allows for future upgrades. This is rare in laptops where GPUs are usually soldered in place and you’re stuck with what you buy.

The catch? MXM modules aren’t widely available and finding a compatible more powerful GPU down the line could be a challenge. Krayzor’s promise of upgradability is cool but in reality it depends on the company’s ability to source or support future modules. For makers who love the idea of extending their laptop’s life this is a big selling point but it comes with a degree of uncertainty.

The Krayzor is powered by an Intel Core i9-12900H processor, a 14 core 2022 processor that’s still fast but not the latest. It handles gaming, video editing and multitasking well, newer processors from Intel or AMD might be more efficient and faster in 2025. It has WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for fast connectivity and a 1MP webcam with IR for secure logins via facial recognition. Three fans for cooling should keep temperatures in check during intense usage but noise levels haven’t been proven yet without independent testing.

The system has an 80 Wh battery, but due to the dual displays and high end components battery life won’t last all day. This laptop is designed to be left plugged in most of the time. USB-C, two USB 3.0 Type-A, USB 2.0 Type-A, HDMI, Ethernet, 3.5mm audio jack, microSD card reader and DC power input are among the many ports available. The 220W power supply ensures the system has enough juice but adds to the already heavy box.

Krayzor’s Kickstarter campaign has the laptop starting at $851 for the barebones model and rising to $890 for early birds. That’s cheaper than the expected $1290 retail price, but there’s a catch: no RAM, storage or OS. Adding 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD is $109 and 32GB of RAM and 2TB SSD is $260. Worldwide shipping begins December 2025 with taxes and fees included (but we all know how that goes on Kickstarter).
