Eufy’s MarsWalker is a Robot Vacuum’s Stairway to Freedom

For years, robot vacuums have promised easy cleaning, gliding across floors to remove dust and pet hair with minimal human effort. But for anyone who lives in a multi-story home there’s always one problem: stairs. Those pesky steps have been an insurmountable barrier, forcing owners to lift their robotic helpers up and down or buy a second vacuum. At IFA 2025 in Berlin, Eufy unveiled the MarsWalker, a device that will transport your robot vacuum between floors with the ease of a seasoned mountaineer.
Eufy’s MarsWalker is a tough, compact tank with four independently operated limbs and a track-drive system that grips each stair like a climber on a rock wall. It’s designed to pick up a compatible robot vacuum – starting with Eufy’s Omni S2 – and carry it up or down straight, L-shaped or U-shaped stairs. The vacuum goes into the MarsWalker’s central compartment, just like it would at a charging station. Once secured, the platform’s arms extend to fit the shape of the stairs, while the treads provide the traction to prevent slipping on each step. At the top or bottom the MarsWalker opens its doors and the vacuum can continue cleaning or return to its base.

With 3D mapping technology it creates a map of your home, knowing where the stairs are and when the vacuum needs to go to the next level. Finish cleaning the living room? The Omni S2 docks with the MarsWalker, which goes to the bedroom level, drops off its passenger and waits for its return trip. It even has its own charging dock so it’s always ready to go.
Compatibility is key to the MarsWalker’s appeal and Eufy’s Omni S2 is the perfect match. The S2 is a powerful vacuum and mop combo that will be available in January 2026 for $1,599. It has 30,000Pa of suction force which is enough to tackle thick carpets up to 2 inches deep. Its mopping method uses 3.3 pounds of downward pressure and a roller that reaches 15mm to scrub baseboards. A DuoSpiral brush keeps hair tangle-free, and a 3D ToF sensor, RGB camera and LED lighting can detect over 200 objects including rug tassels and stray socks. The S2 can lift its mop 2 inches to prevent wetting carpets and cross thresholds up to 4.2cm, so it’s a versatile cleaner even without the MarsWalker. Add a fragrance system (with scents like citrus, basil or lychee) and an all-in-one dock that empties the bin, washes the mop and sterilizes the rollers and you have a vacuum that’s both luxurious and practical.
At IFA 2025, the MarsWalker walked up staircases, its arms adjusting to each step. The Omni S2 backed into the MarsWalker with the same ease it docked at its base station. The MarsWalker doesn’t clean stairs (maybe a missed opportunity) but it does deliver on its promise of moving a vacuum from one floor to another without human intervention. Eufy’s claim of a “whole-home cleaning solution” seems plausible for people who are tired of being the porter for their robot vacuum.
The MarsWalker’s price is unknown but it will be available in spring 2026 and that’s when things get interesting. If it’s priced like a full robot vacuum the math may not add up for everyone – buying two vacuums may still be more convenient for some. Another question mark is compatibility; it’s designed to work with the Omni S2 and other select Eufy models but not third party vacuums.
