Iliman Ndiaye injury update ahead of Everton vs Aston Villa | Football

David Moyes revealed that Iliman Ndiaye is a doubt for Everton’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Ndiaye has enjoyed a superb start to the season at Everton, scoring two goals in their first three league games.

And the 25-year-old continued that good form on international duty with Senegal, helping his country pick up two more wins to leave them on the brink of qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

Ndiaye played the full 90 minutes in Senegal’s 3-2 win over DR Congo on Tuesday, but could now miss Saturday’s game with Villa after Moyes revealed the forward has picked up a knock.

‘We’ve got a concern about Ili Ndiaye – he’s got a knock, so we’ll need to see,’ Moyes said in his pre-match press conference.

‘We’re not sure how he’ll be for tomorrow.’

There was more positive news when it came to Vitali Mykolenko, who withdrew from international duty having picked up a minor injury in the win over Wolves.

‘Mykolenko is around it,’ Moyes said of the Ukrainian left-back. ‘We’ll need to see whether he’s going to make it or not. Hopefully he might be okay

‘He had felt something in the game against Wolves and he’d made it known but he felt that he was fine to go to Ukraine, but once he got there he felt that maybe he wasn’t quite right so he came away from it.’

Elsewhere, Nathan Patterson and Adam Aznou could return to action, but this weekend will come to soon for Jarrad Branthwaite, who is still yet to feature this season.

‘Jarrad is getting closer but he’s not quite there yet, but he’s certainly getting closer and hopefully we get him back because he’s a huge player for us,’ Moyes added.

‘He’s a player we value highly and someone we have lots of hopes for, so we’re looking forward to getting him back.

‘I’ve no idea [when he’ll be back], at the moment, but I think we’ll be a few weeks before we’re at that stage.’

A win for Everton will make it three on the bounce under Moyes in the league and continue their impressive start to the season.

Villa, meanwhile, are desperate to get their first win under Unai Emery this season, having lost back-to-back fixtures prior to the international break.
