Erling Haaland finally responds to Myles Lewis-Skelly after being ‘mocked’ by Arsenal star | Football

Erling Haaland has issued a response to Myles Lewis-Skelly six months after the Manchester City striker was ‘mocked’ by the Arsenal defender.
Haaland, 25, and Lewis-Skelly, 18, have had beef since the heated 2-2 Premier League draw between Arsenal and City in September 2024.
The match between the two title rivals saw Lewis-Skelly make his Arsenal debut with Haaland turning to him and shouting: ‘Who the f*** are you?’
Lewis-Skelly got revenge over Haaland when Arsenal smashed City 5-1 in February, copying the Norwegian’s lotus celebration after scoring a goal.
After the clash, Lewis-Skelly shared a ‘keep it humble’ message on his Instagram – in a collaboration with Adidas – in what was a reference to Haaland previously telling his manager Mikel Arteta to ‘stay humble’.

Haaland has now finally responded to the English teenager in a new interview, telling TIME: ‘They won the game 5-1. So yeah, they got me.
‘If he wanted to use that moment to mock me, that’s fair enough for him. Whatever he wants to do, he can do.’

Haaland vows to continue ‘stay humble’ phrase
Quizzed about his now infamous ‘stay humble’ dig at Arteta in September 2024, Haaland vowed to continue using the phrase.
‘I think it’s an important phrase, which a lot of people should use, including myself,’ Haaland added.
‘It’s one of the most important things, as individuals, to do.’

How many trophies have Haaland & Lewis-Skelly won?
Since moving to City in the summer of 2022, Haaland has won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the FA Cup, the Community Shield and the Super Cup.
Haaland, widely regarded as one of the best strikers on the planet, has scored an incredible tally of 124 goals across 146 games for City.
Lewis-Skelly, meanwhile, is considered as one of the best young players in English football.
He made his Arsenal debut last year and has played 39 games for the club, having progressed through the Hale End academy. He has not yet landed a trophy in his senior career.
When do Arsenal next face Man City?
Arsenal and City have developed somewhat of a rivalry after fighting each other for the Premier League trophy in recent seasons, although it was Liverpool who were crowned champions of England last term.
Arteta’s team finished as Premier League runners-up to City in both 2023 and 2024. In 2025, Arsenal finished second again and City were third.
The next time Arsenal face City is on September 21 as the Gunners host Pep Guardiola’s side at the Emirates.
They are then set to meet again for the reverse fixture at the Etihad on April 18.
