2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S Shows Why It’s a Masterclass in Power and Poise

Porsche has revealed the 2026 911 Turbo S, and it redefines what a sports car can be. This latest one, unveiled at the IAA Mobility in Munich, has 701 horsepower and a hybrid system to not only raise the bar, but create a new one.
The 911 Turbo S has always had a twin-turbo 3.6-liter flat-six engine, but in 2026 Porsche will pair it with a hybrid system called T-Hybrid. Two electronic turbochargers (eTurbos) replace the single unit in the 911 Carrera GTS, and output is up 61 horsepower to 701. Torque remains the same 590 lb-ft across a wide 2,300 to 6,000 rpm range so it feels explosive whether you’re crawling through city streets or tearing down the highway. An electric motor in the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission combines with a 1.9-kWh high-voltage battery to power all four wheels through Porsche’s Traction Management system. This system gets the coupe from 0 to 60 in 2.4 seconds – 0.2 seconds quicker than before – and to 124 in 8.4 seconds, half a second faster than before. Top speed? A blazing 200 mph.

Braking and handling match the powertrain’s ferocity with standard ceramic brakes featuring 420-mm front and 410-mm rear rotors, 20 mm larger than before and the largest ever on a Porsche two-door. New brake pads from motorsport provide a crisper pedal feel and endless stopping power. Tires are wider at the back (325/30 ZR 21, up 10 mm), while the front remains 255/35 ZR 20, balancing grip with precision. The new standard Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control system, which uses a 400-volt electrical system, reduces body roll and sharpens cornering response faster than the previous hydraulic system. An optional front axle lift, driven by the 400-volt system, raises the nose faster for easier daily driving over speed bumps or steep driveways.
Aerodynamics are key, with vertical cooling flaps in the front, an active front diffuser and an extendable, tilting rear wing all working together to manage airflow. In its most efficient mode the coupe’s drag coefficient is reduced by up to 10% compared to the previous model. In wet conditions the front flaps close to protect the brakes from water spray and ensure consistent braking. These systems do more than just cool the car; they shape the air to keep the car stable at high speed or in tight corners. A titanium sport exhaust, standard on all models, reduces weight and amplifies the flat-six’s growl, giving the car a voice to match its performance.
Inside, it feels like a bespoke suit designed for speed. Turbonite, a color exclusive to the Turbo models, wraps the steering wheel, dashboard, center console, seat belts and even the stitching. Carbon fiber trim with Neodyme accents and a perforated Race-Tex headliner makes for a cockpit that’s sporty and luxurious. The coupe is two-seater with 18-way adjustable sport seats, however rear seats are available at no additional cost. The Cabriolet features a 2+2 configuration. Standard HD Matrix LED headlights, a tuned Porsche Active Suspension Management system, and the Sport Chrono Package, which incorporates a tire temperature sensor, ensure that the vehicle is both practical and thrilling.
Pricing for the coupe starts at $270,300 and the Cabriolet is $284,300, plus a $2,350 delivery fee, taxes as well as any applicable tariffs. That’s a $31,600 and $32,300 increase over the current model respectively for the hybrid tech and features. Deliveries start Spring 2026 at U.S. Porsche Centers.
